Balsam Bash at Ham
Welcome to the TLS Balsam Bash!
Join us for a friendly, hands‑on volunteer session helping to control Himalayan Balsam, an invasive plant that threatens riverbanks, wildlife habitats and our historic Thames landscape.
📅 Date: Tuesday 9th June
⏰ Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
📍 Location: Ham Street Car Park
🔗 What 3 words: ///slowly.rising.audit
What to Expect
Together, we’ll be working along the riverside to remove Himalayan Balsam before it sets seed. This simple but effective action helps protect native plants, improves habitats for wildlife, and keeps our local rivers healthy and resilient.
No previous experience is needed – just enthusiasm!
All tools, gloves and guidance will be provided on the day.
Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
These sessions are relaxed, sociable and open to all. Bring along a friend, family member, or come solo and meet like‑minded people.
Hot drinks and biscuits will be provided, so we can relax and chat between tasks.
What to Bring
Comfortable outdoor clothing (including long sleeves and trousers)
Sturdy shoes or boots
A packed lunch and water
Sunscreen if required
Join us to protect wildlife, care for local heritage, and make a real difference to your riverside environment. We’d love to have you with us to tackle these pesky plants.
