BAPLA FOCUS 2025: Celebrating BAPLA’s 50th Anniversary

Join us on Thursday 25 September at the historic Churchill War Rooms, the very space where visual strategy shaped public opinion, for a landmark edition of BAPLA FOCUS. This year’s special in-person event marks BAPLA’s 50th anniversary, celebrating five decades of image licensing expertise while tackling the challenges ahead. This milestone event promises to be a day filled with networking, insightful discussions and celebrations, tackling the big questions: What does truth look like in the age of AI? And how can licensing protect both creators and innovation? Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to connect with industry professionals, learn and reflect on 50 years of protecting visual culture, past, present and future. Save the date and be part of this exciting event!

Please note the conference will run from 09:30 AM - 5:00 PM (BST). Refreshments and lunch will be provided during the day.

After the main programme, attendees will enjoy a special evening celebration, including after-hours access to the Churchill War Rooms (normally priced at £33), along with drinks and canapés which will run from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM (BST).

Ticket price includes entry to both events.

*Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements or allergies in advance, so we can accommodate them for the lunch provided.

Frequently asked questions

What time can I check in?

Please arrive by 9:00 AM to allow time for registration and security checks at the Churchill War Rooms. Due to museum protocols, there will be a two-step check-in process, including collecting  a wristband which will allow you to move freely in and out of the venue throughout the day.

Why do I need a wristband?

A wristband is provided by the museum and will allow you to move freely in and out of the venue throughout the day. Please ensure you wear it at all times for easy re-entry and access to event spaces. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us start the day promptly.

What is the accessibility like?

Please note that access to the Churchill War Rooms involves one small flight of stairs. There is also a small lift available for those who require step-free access.

Is the conference room easy to find?

The conference room will be clearly signposted on arrival; however, please be aware that the venue remains open to the public during the day, so there will be general museum visitors in the surrounding space. We recommend arriving early to get your bearings and navigate the venue comfortably.
