What is Somatic Movement?
Somatic Movement is a series of slow, safe and gentle movements, mostly floor-based, which are designed to re-educate your brain to safely release, lengthen and relax muscles. The movements target chronically contracted muscles that have learned to remain tight due to repetition, accident, injury or repetitive stress. This 6-week programme will teach you to discover muscles that are habitually contracted, and learn how to release them and dissolve muscular pain.
Do I Need to be Flexible or Fit to Join?
Absolutely not. People of all fitness levels are encouraged to join.
This course is suitable for those new to Somatic Movement and for those whom have some experience and want to learn more.
Do I Need to Bring Anything?
Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat as well as a soft blanket.
Can I Learn More about Somatic Movement?
Carole recommends that you visit Thomas Hanna's website, as the founder of Somatic Movement, where you will find detailed information.
