About the session:
Can you tell your DPA from your GDPR? Do you know if you’re processing personal data? Do you know what data you’re allowed to share? If the answer to any of these questions is ‘no’, you will benefit from attending this session!
You will learn the basics of Data Protection law, as well as gaining practical advice to help your organisation.

This will be an engaging two-hour session delivered via MSTeams.
Who is it being delivered by, and why are they cool:
The session will be delivered by Stewart Nicolson who has been an active and enthusiastic data protection officer since 2012. Feedback to his data protection sessions have been very positive, including a chief executive who described it as “not as boring as you think it will be”.
Session aims:
The session aims to give attendees a basic grounding in the Data Protection Act 2018, and some practical guidance about processes your organisation should have in place.
Learning outcomes:
After the session, the attendee will be able to:
- Describe the principles of the Data Protection Act 2018.
- Understand the legal basis for processing personal data.
- Understand how to deal with Subject Access Request.
- Be able to create Data Protection Impact Assessments, Privacy Notices, and information sharing agreements.
