Join us for a magical twilight Bat Walk and discover the wonderful wildlife that comes alive along the Grand Western Canal after dark. Led by our Ranger team, this gentle 1½‑mile towpath walk takes around 1.5 hours and offers a fantastic opportunity to learn about bats and observe them in their natural habitat.
Meeting Point:
Meet at 8:50pm at the towpath access gate beside Tidcombe Bridge, Tidcombe Lane, EX16 4EZ.
The walk will head towards Snakes Wood and back, with an expected return time of around 10:30pm. You are welcome to leave earlier if needed.
Booking & Cost:
- £3.50 per person, plus Eventbrite fee
- Booking essential via Eventbrite
What to Bring:
- A torch
- Warm, suitable outdoor clothing
Important Information:
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- Not suitable for children under 5
- No dogs permitted (except assistance dogs)
Weather Notice:
Bats are less active in cold, wet, or windy conditions. In the event of unsuitable weather, the walk may be cancelled. If this happens, we will contact you by phone and email with as much notice as possible.
