The North Devon UNESCO Biosphere is an area stretching from Dartmoor into the Atlantic where people work together on exciting projects to protect the environment while making sure local communities thrive.

An evening walk on Sat 25 April to look for bats emerging for the night in Appledore, Devon.

St Mary's Church, Appledore

Having heard reports of bat sightings near St. Mary's Church in Appledore, there are now several bat boxes in place in the churchyard. It's probably too soon for them to have moved in to their new homes, but we're going to try and catch a glimpse of these nocturnal fliers.Meet at St. Marys Churchyard, Appledore, for 8pm on Saturday 25 April. We'll take a walk around the village with bat detectors. Wear warm clothes and bring a torch.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Bat sightings cannot be guaranteed particularly if weather conidtions are not ideal.If we have to cancel due to very cold or windy weather, we will email.Please let us know if you have any mobility or vision conditions that we should be aware of ofr a walk in the dark.
