Bathscape Landscape Partnership

The ‘pilgrimage’ walk takes in various sites of interfaith interest, and is open to those of all faiths or none (equally)

Shree Jagannatha Temple UK(City Of BATH)

The pilgrimage starts at noon at the Shree Jagannatha Hindu Temple (on the former Culverhay School site - with welcome from Ashish Rajhansha and food generously provided by Susmita’s Bath UK Restaurant); at 13:00 it proceeds via the nearby Druid Grove (with an explanation from a local druid) to the Workhouse Burial Ground off Wellsway (with some Mindfulness meditation led by a local practitioner - between 13:30 and 14:00).It then follows a route away from the main road to the Jewish Burial Ground (opposite Mulberry Park at 1 Greendown Place BA2 5DD, with a talk by Christina Hilsenrath, between 14:45 and 15:15) before proceeding downhill to Magdalen Chapel on Holloway (with welcome from the rector, Jacky Wise, between 16:15 and 16:45) and then ending up at the Al-Muzaffar Mosque at 8, Pierrepont Street BA1 1LA in the city centre (with a tour, and hopefully an address by Imam Mohammed Gamal) from about 17:00 to 17:30. [All timing, except the start time, is estimated]The terrain is reasonable for wheelchair users, provided they have strong pushers/motorised wheelchair. Assistance can be provided for a road alternative to the stretch with stiles.There are some steep sections and stiles and kissing gates (an alternative to the route is available if required). There are toilets and refreshments available on the route.The pilgrimage is led by Bath Interfaith Group.This walk is part of <a href="https://www.bathscape.co.uk/walking-festival/" title="https://www.bathscape.co.uk/walking-festival/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Bathscape Walking Festival</a>.
