Avon Wildlife Trust is the largest local charity working to protect wildlife in the West of England area (formerly the County of Avon - Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire). With the support of over 17,600 members, volunteers and corporate support, we are the largest local charity working to protect wildlife and inspire people. We care for a variety of amazing nature reserves, from ancient bluebell woods, nationally rare wetlands and wildflower meadows.

Join like-minded nature-loving educators for a free after school workshop at Bath City Farm, hosted by Avon Wildlife Trust and Bathscape.

Bath City Farm

Bathscape and Avon Wildlife Trust have worked together with local primary schools and volunteers to create a new suite of resources for educators who want to bring more nature into their school grounds and their teaching.At this free workshop you'll have a chance to meet like-minded educators from across Bath, try out some outdoor learning ideas, and be the first to get your hands on these practical activity guides, which include guides for planning visits to two local nature sites: Carr's Wood and Twerton Round Hill. The workshop will be led by Lucy Hellier, Avon Wildlife Trust's Learning Manager and will also include:- Tea &amp; cake!- Advice on improving school grounds for nature- Launch of a video celebrating and promoting outdoor learning, made with St Michael's Junior School in Twerton- A chance to try out iNaturalist - the user friendly Smartphone tech used in the City Nature Challenge for identifying and monitoring wildlife.Spaces are limited so please book in advance.This workshop is being held as part of the Bathscape project. Bathscape encourages more people to actively enjoy the landscape on Bath’s doorstep - as families, student groups and individually. We concentrate our efforts in areas like Twerton and Whiteway, helping to make local woodlands and grasslands better managed and better for wildlife, and inspiring the next generation of nature lovers. This work is made possible with the Heritage Fund.Avon Wildlife Trust are experts in outdoor learning and wildlife conservation.
