Led by Indonesian artist <a href="https://www.instagram.com/clesiachristine?igsh=OGN1a3ZrbDV3OXU4" title="https://www.instagram.com/clesiachristine?igsh=OGN1a3ZrbDV3OXU4" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Clesia</a> from Soboman Artspace in Yogyakarta, participants will delve into the rich tradition of Indonesian batik techniques. From mastering the intricate wax-resist dyeing process to designing vibrant patterns, attendees will have the opportunity to create their own artwork.There will be comfort breaks, and we'll provide snacks and water, but please bring a packed lunch!Due to the nature of hot wax, we recommend that this workshop is for participants 12 and over. Please bring protective clothes with you.FREE to attend, spaces are limited, please book in advance.

Tetitan Swarane Tandur - '<a href="https://fusion-arts.org/whats-on/tetiten-swarane-tandur-hear-the-seeds-sing" title="https://fusion-arts.org/whats-on/tetiten-swarane-tandur-hear-the-seeds-sing" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Hear the Seeds Sing</a>' an immersive art exhibition in collaboration with <a href="https://www.instagram.com/soboman219/" title="https://www.instagram.com/soboman219/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Soboman Artspace 219</a> from Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The exhibition, which will take place during <a href="https://greatbiggreenweek.com/" title="https://greatbiggreenweek.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Great Big Green Week,</a> delves into pressing global issues such as climate change and food security, using art as a powerful medium to provoke thought and inspire action.“This exhibition is a space for us to express and voice the crises experienced by peasants and indigenous groups in Indonesia to global audiences. Wooden Cowongan dolls and miniature statues of Dewi Sri, the goddess of fertility in Javanese belief, are presented as expressions of farmers eco-religiosity, emphasizing that humans are not the rulers of nature.” explains Ribka Barus, the exhibition writer, who has worked alongside Artists at Soboman Artspace to create this exhibition.&nbsp;Artists from the Soboman Artspace 219 will travel to Oxford for an Artist Residency. The mural, starting as a pencil sketch, will be brought to life during the opening event, with artists painting it throughout the week. The closing event will unveil the completed exhibition, commemorated with performances by the artists.
