Battersea Together: Community & Connection

Battersea Together: Community & Connection

St Peter's Church, BatterseaLondon, England
Friday, Jan 30 from 11 am to 2 pm GMT
Overview

Bringing residents, organisations and partners together to drive cultural change and shape how Battersea’s community-led work is funded.

Battersea Together: Community & Connection

Battersea Together is about bringing people together who care about Battersea and want to play a role in reducing isolation, loneliness and poor mental health — and strengthening community and social cohesion for the long term.

Hosted by the Battersea Alliance (a partnership of six locally rooted organisations formed from the legacy of Big Local SW11), this gathering brings residents, volunteers, community organisations, funders, businesses and statutory partners into the same room.

The aim is simple but important:
to strengthen relationships, share learning, and shape how Battersea responds to growing social and wellbeing challenges — together.

This gathering will focus on:

  • building community and social cohesion in a changing neighbourhood
  • strengthening community resilience at a time of rising need
  • learning from place-based, community-led approaches
  • opening up new conversations about how change is funded and sustained

A key part of the day will be exploring new approaches to fundraising for Battersea — including collective giving, shared ownership and place-based investment. This is about more than raising money; it’s about changing how decisions are made, building trust, and ensuring communities are partners in shaping their future.

This is not a conference or a one-way presentation. It’s a shared space for conversation, connection and collective direction-setting.

Whether you’re a resident, volunteer, community organiser, funder, business or public sector colleague — you are part of Battersea Together.
