BCM & Locality: Completing your 'COGA' form
Location
Online event
For successful Celebrating Communities Fund applicants
About this event
"Completing your 'COGA' form" is open to any group across Birmingham that was successful in their application for a Celebrating Communities grant in Round 1 & 2.
If your community organisation has been successful in securing Celebrating Communities grant funding to be part of the Commonwealth Games Festival: congratulations!
Before you receive the grant, you will be required to complete a Conditions of Grant Aid form, also know as a "COGA".
This session will give an overview of the COGA form, how to complete each section of the form and the policies and procedures that are required to be in place. There will be lots of opportunities to ask questions during the session.
-----
If you require any support to get your project up and running, BCM and Locality are also running sessions around "Running your community activity" to give an overview of things that you will need to put in place to make sure that your event runs smoothly. You can book a place on these separate events via Eventbrite.
We will also be updating the Celebrating Communities pages on our website to include short videos, printable checklists, useful templates and sources of information on:
- Keeping people safe - this will cover completion of risk assessments, safeguarding, food hygiene, health and safety considerations, insurance.
- Involving volunteers in your community event - this will cover how to get people involved, communicate, and manage people that might be involved in your event.
- Monitoring and showing the impact of your activity - this will cover simple ways to collect information to show the impact of your activity and how your project meets the aims of the Celebrating Communities Fund.

About your hosts
Birmingham Community Matters (BCM) helps people to start and run small voluntary or community organisations. We do this through our 'peer to peer network', by bringing people together to share their knowledge and experience.
Our motto is: 'Everyone has something to learn and everyone has something to teach'.
Locality is the national membership network supporting local community organisations to be strong and successful. Our member network of over 1200 organisations across England creates the services their community needs most in spaces where everyone belongs.

Birmingham Community Matters and Locality are pleased to be working with Birmingham City Council’s Neighbourhood Development Support Unit to offer this Celebrating Communities grant applicant support.
