Be Buckfastleigh Free Bird Box Building Workshop
Event Information
About this Event
There are never enough holes and hideaways where wildlife can shelter - help them by making a nest box.
House sparrows and small birds are a familiar sight in our gardens, but they're in trouble and struggling to cope in the modern world. You can help them by learning to build a bird box with our experts and then personalise your handiwork by painting it and making it your own!
All materials, guidance and decorating is completely free for TQ11 resident and you get a lovely bird home to take away for free. (Suggested £5 donation for non TQ11 residents) Boxes will also be made to go up in our town to provide homes for birds in all sorts of places!
Tickets are for a family group or a couple so no need to book a ticket for each person in your family.
You should see the males proudly chirping from nearby, or even from the roof of the box. Don’t worry if sparrows don't move in right away – it may take a while for a family to start where you live. But you'll be ready when they do!
Follow the instructions carefully and you could have a box that could be home to a brood of baby house sparrows. Exciting, eh?
