Help us protect marine life in the Dornoch Firth by joining us for a citizen science volunteering event!
Join us for a beach clean and marine litter survey for Marine Conservation Society’s Beachwatch programme!
Data collected from our beach cleans is hugely important as it helps us track the common items we find on our beaches and then campaign for change to reduce this pollution.
All equipment (gloves, litter pickers, bags, clipboards & surveys) will be provided but do feel free to bring your own too. Please dress for the weather and bring warm layers and sturdy shoes.
All participants under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Meeting Point
Meet in the beach car park on the south side of the river https://w3w.co/dealings.pitchers.plotter
Who we are
The Dornoch Environmental Enhancement Project (DEEP) is a partnership between Marine Conservation Society, Glenmorangie Distillery, and Heriot-Watt University that aims to restore 4-million European flat oysters to the Dornoch Firth. Oysters once thrived in the Firth but were wiped out entirely in the 19th century. Restoration of this essential species and habitat is underway, and we want your help to support the enhancement of the Dornoch Firth. Our engagement events for the communities surrounding the Dornoch Firth are a great way to learn about the project and help protect marine life on your doorstep.
