Plastic pollution has never been so topical, and it’s likely to garner only more attention as the theme for this year’s World Environment Day on June 5th. If you’re based in the Yorkshire &amp; Humber, come along to our seminar exploring new legislation on plastic pollution, and how organisations are responding to this influx of consumer interest (and pressure).
 Our expert panel will delve into this complex topic, with a dedicated Q&A session for you to put your queries directly to our speakers, including:

<LI>Andrew Pitts - Calderdale Council’s lead on an exciting and inclusive new Plastics Plan. He will outline the ambitious scheme’s development, exploring actions to reduce single use plastics under the Council’s direct control (e.g. plastic overshoes at gyms or use of plastic cups), as well as consider how the Council can maximise recycling from household waste and highlight their “Don’t Muck About” campaign, which aims to reduce littering and fly tipping.</LI>
<LI>Nigel Sagar – Senior Environmental Compliance Manager at Skanska, who will answer the question “does reverse vending really work?” and address how the construction industry is addressing its use of plastics.</LI>
<LI>John Mooney, from Pennine-Pack, who will share his expert knowledge of industry consultations, challenges, and what goes on behind the scenes in the UK plastics recycling industry, with an overview of the legislative and other initiatives to reduce plastic waste.</LI>
