Inclusive Companies are thrilled to be partnering with The National Autistic Society & Auto Trader UK to deliver a dynamic and insightful event in honour of World Autism Awareness Week.  
We would like to formally invite you to attend this exclusive, invitation only occasion. 
The National Autistic Society are UK’s leading charity for autistic people and their families and they are currently working with a number of businesses who are hoping to improve access to the workplace for autistic people. Featuring a powerful line up of keynote speakers, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from leading autism campaigners and experts as well as participate in a guided tour of Auto Trader offices as they are on target to become one of the first accredited Autism Friendly workplace in the UK.  
Take away practical solutions, engage in a Q&A session and network with some of the industry’s leading specialists as we explore ways in which employers can make a difference to autistic people’s lives in the workplace.  
We are delighted to offer our clients, partners and associates the opportunity to be a part of this occasion, inviting you to join the conversation. A complete itinerary will be sent directly to yourself prior to the event.
Accessibility information
Taking place in world Autism Awareness Week we particularly want to encourage autistic people to join us and we want to make sure we make it as welcoming and accessible as possible to everyone. Sensory Needs: The Auto Trader office is a brilliant venue in many respects, but it is also a colourful working space for c.500 Auto Trader employees and during the event we will also be serving hot food. We sincerely hope this does not cause issues for people. We will try and reduce background noise and other distractions. We ask attendees to try to reduce distracting noises. Mechanisms to reduce sensory issues are totally acceptable. Attendees are requested not to remark on tinted glasses, ear-plugs/defenders, headphones, or any other aids. Silent Clapping: The sound of many people clapping together can be uncomfortable or painful to some autistic people. For this reason, we invite you to replace the traditional clap with a wave of the hands. Don’t worry if you forget (it takes a bit of practice!), even if a few people clap, the overall noise level will have been reduced. Autistic behaviours: Repetitive movements or behaviours, echolalia, distractibility, fidgeting or moving about, different or impaired conversation skills, avoidance of eye contact, perseveration (obsessiveness), are expected and accepted. Please try to bear in mind the need for speakers / attendees to be heard. Quiet Room: Auto Trader will have a quiet room available for anyone to use during the event. We will explain where this is at the start of the event and it will be clearly signposted. Getting Help during the event: If you need any additional help during the event please ask one of the hosts who will do their best to help you. They will be wearing blue t-shirts with the Auto Trader logo so you will easily identify them. Schedule (all times are approximate) When you arrive at the Auto Trader UK offices you will be asked to sign in. There will be an opportunity for the audience to make comments and ask questions following the key note speeches. Please raise your hand and wait to be invited to speak. We request that you do not ask questions or make comments during the speeches. We warmly invite you to stay for a tour of the Auto Trader offices following the event. Volunteers will show you around the offices and some of the changes in the environment that have been made to make it more inclusive and accessible. If you have any more requirements, please let us know in advance.
