Becoming Climate Resilient

Edinburgh Climate Change InstituteEdinburgh, Edinburgh
Thursday, June 25  •  10 AM - 4 PM
Overview

Strengthen your understanding, confidence and skills to lead practical climate adaptation and build resilience in your organisation.

Becoming Climate Resilient is a one‑day capacity building course that strengthens your understanding, confidence and capabilities to plan and deliver climate adaptation actions. It gives you the practical insight and momentum to lead your organisation’s climate resilience journey, helping you move from awareness to action in Scotland’s changing climate.

The course is delivered by Verture - the climate resilience charity and endorsed by the Edinburgh Climate Change Institute.

As climate change brings about more frequent and severe disruption across the systems we all rely upon, building resilience is an increasingly urgent priority for businesses, government and communities. Yet, adapting to climate change remains a new challenge for many.

Becoming climate resilient provides opportunities not only for responding to climate risks, but also to generate a range of positive benefits for people and nature, now and for the years ahead.

What you will learn

Learning outcomes:

  • An understanding of the current and future climate context for Scotland, and how that can impact you and your organisation
  • Confidence in identifying and prioritising adaptation actions
  • Knowledge, skills and capabilities to support your organisation’s adaptation journey
  • Resources tailored to your identified next steps, to support you in becoming a climate resilient organisation

How will the course be run?

This one day course will be delivered in-person at the Edinburgh Climate Change Institute and will consist of presentations, interactive workshops, and group discussion.
