Becoming Simulation Faculty is a nationally developed, CPD‑recognised training programme designed by NHS England’s Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) team to prepare multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to design, deliver and evaluate high‑quality simulation‑based education (SBE). It supports educators, clinicians, technicians, managers, and academic partners who wish to embed simulation and immersive learning in patient‑safety, workforce development, and quality‑improvement pathways. This programme responds to the growing demand for skilled simulation faculty capable of applying modern simulation, debriefing models, and immersive technologies effectively and consistently across the health and care system. Its aim is to:
- Develop a competent, recognised multiprofessional simulation faculty.
- Ensure equitable access to high‑quality faculty development nationwide.
- Enhance the quality, safety, and educational impact of simulation activities in healthcare.
The programme reflects national strategy to support innovation in simulation, informed by UK-wide expert contributors and insights from successful international models.
