Beekeeping for Beginners

Bell House is an educational charity with a focus on wider learning and enrichment outside of mainstream education. Based in a beautiful house with a rich history, we hope to become a valuable hub and resource for the local community.

<DIV><SPAN>Join us at Bell House for an introductory beekeeping course on Saturday 18th November.</SPAN></DIV>

<DIV><SPAN>With the help of beekeeper Philip Nicholson, at Bell House we have now established a small apiary with a view to supporting <SPAN CLASS="il">beekeeping</SPAN> and bee-related educational events and courses in the coming months.</SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><BR></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN>To start this off, Philip will be giving a half day '<SPAN CLASS="il">Beekeeping</SPAN> for Beginners' taster session at Bell House on Saturday 18th November starting at 10am and finishing about 1pm. </SPAN>The session is aimed at people who have little or no experience of <SPAN CLASS="il">beekeeping</SPAN>, but are interested in knowing more, perhaps with a view to starting to keep bees themselves or with others - or perhaps not! All beginners welcome.</DIV>

<DIV><SPAN>Topics to be covered include: the honey bee colony; the beehive; the <SPAN CLASS="il">beekeeping</SPAN> year; honey; swarming and swarm management; pests and diseases; <SPAN CLASS="il">beekeeping </SPAN>equipment and costs.</SPAN></DIV>

<DIV><SPAN>We look forward to introducing you to this fascinating craft!</SPAN></DIV>
