Beekeeping Taster Day
This is a one-day taster session for those who are thinking about taking up Beekeeping, experiencing opening up hives and handling live bees
Your chance to experience bees first hand and find out what it is all about.
An introduction to the life of the honey bees and how to manage an apiary. You will cover:
· Bee Biology and Lifecycle
· Beekeeping best practice and beekeeping year
· Honey, Pollen Propolis, Wax, Mead
· Equipment needed for both bees and beekeeper
Bee Suits will be provided. You need to bring wellington boots and sensible clothing/long trousers. Please bring your own packed lunch. Tea, coffee and cake will be provided.
