Beespace: a project of learning through creativity and interaction by glass artist <A HREF="http://mirandaglass.uk" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Miranda Ellis</A> comes to ONCA for this one day pop-up exhibition and panel discussion event. 
Glass works by Miranda Ellis produced during her residency at Sussex Prairie Gardens along with a sound installation by Adam Wimbush and film by Stephen Connett will be on display.
This event will be BSL Interpreted.

ABOUT BEESPACE
Bees function as a collective, one organism for survival and the artistic activity has taken the bees example of working together to create a response to the ecological situation we find ourselves in currently.
Pollinators are under immense pressure, with some being pushed over the edge to extinction.  Bees have been described as the yellow canary for environment and their struggles an early warning for ourselves. They are also estimated to be responsible for pollinating for over a third of our food!
The aim of this is project to create an artist response and to develop a more emphatic understanding of how humans and nature can interact and live together. 
Throughout the summer Miranda was Artist in Residence with Beespace at Sussex Prairie Gardens in Henfield (RHS partner garden), visitors were encouraged to see the garden through specially fabricated glass ‘bees eyes’ and consider their amazing multifaceted view of the world.
For one day only Beespace moves to ONCA marking the conclusion of the project.

ABOUT MIRANDA ELLIS
<A HREF="http://mirandaglass.uk" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Miranda’s</A> work explores themes of the unseen and the unpredictable, in particular how glass sculpture is viewed in light and space. Miranda has studied figurative sculpture , 3D Design and Glass Casting.
Her figurative sculpture and glass making is developing audiences and sales nationally. She has permanent work at Sussex Prairie Gardens and has shown at Open Houses Brighton Festival for the last 10 years, she was also part of Curious Making in Eastbourne, 2016. In 2017 she completed  a successful Arts Council funded project Eye2Eye in collaboration with Textile Artist Omeima Mudawi Rowlings, and was this year Artist in Residence at Sussex Prairie with her Beespace project.
