Befriending Training
Befriending training for volunteers on building essential, supportive relationships within your community.
Do you want to volunteer locally, befriending a local resident, offering them a regular contact and support?
Join our two-part training session to gain essential skills and tools for creating supportive relationships within your community.
1. What is Befriending?
2. Benefits of Befriending
3. Effective Communication Skills
- Techniques to engage with someone you don't know
- Face-to-face vs Telephone
4. Confidentiality, Boundaries and how to escalate safeguarding issues
5. How to signpost to practical support
The Wellbeing Friends will also learn about how to manage challenging clients and how to work on closure. This will be an interactive session with Q&A.
This is a safe space where you can interact, ask questions, discuss and learn about this topic.
Attendance at both sessions is required, so please do not register if you cannot commit.
We will not be recording, have your say, share your story to learn and enhance the community knowledge.
