Event description
Looking to get out of Auto? This Level Two course is perfect for anyone using a DSLR, Bridge or any camera with Manual controls

About this Event

Do you have a really nice camera that you have no idea how to use? How about a lovely camera that you bought with best intentions and it's been shoved in the cupboard untouched for months?

Well it's time to dust that camera off because following on from our basic Level One workshop is our Level Two Beginner Photography Workshop.

Where our Level One workshop focuses primarily on Lighting and Composition and can be attended by anyone with ANY type of camera (including smartphone cameras)...

Level Two is focusing on people who have a bridge camera, DSLR camera or any type of camera with manual controls. If you're stuck in Automatic mode, unsure of what to do next then Level Two is for you.

Details:

With the basic understanding of photography already with you (see Level One workshop), this day will focus on understanding the manual controls in order to take more control over the photographs you are taking.

With a mix of theory and practical, we'll look at who to get out of automatic mode and gain a full understand of what shutter speeds, ISO's and apertures all mean.

There will be opportunities to ask questions, as well as lots of practical exercises.

Although no previous knowledge of photography is required, we do highly recommend attending our Level One workshop if you feel you need a better understanding of both lighting and composition first before attending Level Two.

What we'll be covering:

To help you get a better understanding of your camera, we'll be covering the following topics on the day:

  • We'll start with a very quick refresh on lighting and composition.
  • We'll explain the three main manual controls on a camera... the shutter, the iris and the ISO. We'll explain not only what they all mean but also how changing them will affect the end results in your images.
  • We'll spend some time photographing in various different circumstances to fully understand how the controls work so you can see them first hand.
  • We'll also spend some time discussing the differences between different types of equipment such as camera bodies, the different types of lenses available and what they all mean.
  • Small group classes will keep things personal and allow us to really work with you and teach you what you need to know.

Everyone needs a helping hand and what better way than to learn it all than from Award Winning Photographers.

For some of you, it may just be some guidance you need.

For others.. you may be looking for that spark to ignite a passion deep inside you. Either way, our workshops are exactly what you need.

Please note:

The Level Two workshop is NOT for smartphone users so if you don't have a camera with manual controls but are looking for some guidance to take nice photographs, please book into our Level One workshop.

While we ourselves only use Canon equipment, all cameras generally work in the same way, so you are welcome to bring any type of camera long with you. We'll do our best to help you figure the camera out, but if you're not using a canon camera, it would be helpful to bring an instruction manual along with you if you are unfamiliar with the layout of your camera.

Oh and lunch and drinks are included too, so you won't go hungry or thirsty.
