The Workroom next to Colcheco, Colchester

Join us for a relaxed and creative jewellery workshop where you’ll learn how to design and make three beautiful handcrafted rings from scratch.


This beginner-friendly session is perfect if you’ve always wanted to try jewellery making but didn’t know where to start.


During the workshop you’ll learn several essential jewellery techniques while creating your own wearable pieces.


In this 2-hour workshop you will learn:

• Professional ring sizing using mandrels
• Hammering and texturing techniques
• Gemstone and pearl wire wrapping
• Decorative spiral ring shaping
• Simple finishing and polishing techniques


By the end of the session you will have created three different ring styles including:

• A hammered textured band
• A gemstone or pearl wire-wrapped ring
• A decorative spiral ring

You can choose from copper, brass or silver-plated wire, along with a selection of gemstones and pearls.

No experience is needed — this workshop is designed especially for beginners.

All tools and materials are provided.


Optional Upgrade

If you’d like to continue creating, you can make an additional ring for £10 during the workshop (subject to time).

Please note that toilet facilities are located inside Colcheco and are available until 4pm.

Participants are also welcome to purchase drinks or snacks from Colcheco during the session if they wish.

£35 per person + booking fee

All materials and tools included.

Spaces are limited to 10 participants to ensure plenty of guidance throughout the workshop.
