Beginner Tango Workshop: 3-Day Series with Cacu Lucero
Join us for a 3-day series of beginner-friendly tango with Cacu Lucero, an experienced teacher from Argentina who is all about somatic movement and creating welcoming spaces for people of all backgrounds.
Whether you want to dip a toe in and float on the surface or jump in and dive into Mariana trench, this is where you should start with tango!
This isn't a "learn fancy steps and pray you don't mess up" situation. Cacu believes natural is good and teaches through games because talking is overrated when you can just... experience being human with other humans.
What to expect
- Learn through games and gentle movement
- Zero performance anxiety, maximum "oh wait this is actually fun" energy
- Learn to trust your own body (revolutionary concept, we know)
- Connect with people without having to be interesting or witty
- No prior dance experience needed (seriously, we're all winging it)
- All ages and backgrounds welcome (found family energy only)
- Emphasis on personal comfort and boundaries
About Cacu
The man has been teaching across Argentina and worldwide for years. Imagine that friend who explains things without making you feel stupid, and somehow makes everyone feel like they belong. That's Cacu. Here are some videos of him dancing (feel free to stalk him):
What this ISN'T:
- Ballroom dancing with strict rules
- Sexy tango stereotypes (we're all normal people with boring day jobs)
- Anything requiring coordination you don't already have
What this IS:
- Tango for people who overthink everything
- Community building disguised as dancing
- Your chance to discover you're actually capable of more than you think
What should I bring?
Flat shoes and comfy clothes. That's literally it. No fancy anything required.
About us
Our tango community started one year ago and has been pure found family energy ever since. After Cacu works his magic, you can continue with our regular beginner classes and maybe even travel with us to other Scottish or European tango events.
Whether you're curious about tango, looking to meet new people, or simply want to try something different, these workshops offer a great way into our community.
Warning: this might accidentally change your life. Don't say we didn't warn you 💃

Frequently asked questions
Yes bestie - brush your teeth, shower, and maybe skip the garlic bread for lunch. You're gonna be close to people and we want everyone to have a good time! Basic human courtesy goes a long way when you're sharing personal space.
Only as awkward as you make it! Cacu's whole thing is creating comfortable boundaries and natural connection. You'll start with simple walking and work up to partnering at your own pace. No forced intimacy, just gentle human connection.
Listen, 90-year-olds are out here thriving in milongas worldwide. Our community is all ages - it's actually beautiful to dance with different generations. Age is just a number, vibes are eternal.
Plot twist - tango is literally just walking with intention. If you can walk to the kitchen for snacks, you can tango. We're not learning complicated choreography, just natural movement.
The opposite! It's learning through games and gentle chaos. Think more "fun with friends" energy, less "stern dance instructor judging you."
Then you tried something new and that's already brave! But real talk - Cacu has a gift for making people feel comfortable and confident. Give it a proper chance.
Yes! This is just the beginning. We'll continue with regular beginner classes so you can keep building on what you learn and become part of our community.
Totally valid! Cacu is amazing at helping people find their comfort zone. Everything is consensual and you can always step back if you need space. It's about connection, not invasion.
I mean... both? We're definitely being dramatic but also tango genuinely has this sneaky way of improving your confidence, relationships, and connection to your own body. Don't blame us when you suddenly feel more comfortable in your own skin.
Nope! Most people come solo and leave with new friends. We rotate partners throughout the workshop so you'll connect with everyone. Plus Cacu teaches both leading and following, so you can try whatever feels right.
You can, but you'll be missing out! Each day builds on the last - by day three you'll actually feel confident(ish) instead of just confused. Plus the package saves you the big bucks. Trust us, the people who commit to all three are the ones who leave feeling like they actually learned something ?
Organised by
We're a group of social dancers sharing our tango journey. Our weekly classes are all about learning from each other in a friendly, pressure-free environment. We keep it simple. We focus on the basics that make tango feel good: how to walk, how to embrace, how to connect with your partner and the music. Everything we share comes from our own learning journey and the amazing workshops we've taken with professional teachers.
