The High Wycombe Beekeeping Association (HWBKA) runs a comprehensive Beginners Beekeeping Course each Spring. The course includes:

7 x 2 hour classroom sessions of presentations, demonstrations, practical activities and bee equipment familiarisation, including course notes, tea, coffee and biscuits.

Classroom Sessions for the 2020 Spring course will be held on the following dates on Saturdays between 10am - 12md at Trinity Church, High Wycombe:

21st March

28th March

4th April

(11th April - no session for Easter Weekend)

18th April

25th April

As each session focusses on a different aspect of Beekeeping, it is preferable if you are able to attend all of the sessions, but we do provide course notes so you can catch up if you cannot attend a session.

After the classroom sessions have completed, we offer a choice of dates to attend 2 x practical bee handling sessions at HWBKA’s training apiary near High Wycombe, including free gloves (to keep) and a free loan of hive tools, smokers and a protective bee-suit.

After the whole course is completed, you will be invited to on-going supervised hive inspections at the training apiary throughout the year.

Also included in the course price is the current year's membership of HWBKA, which includes entrance to monthly meetings, subscription to monthly Bee-space Magazine and on-going support from Association Members.
