Beginners Brush Calligraphy Workshop

Join me for a calming evening at The Art House, where you’ll be introduced to the expressive art of modern brush pen calligraphy.

This beginner-friendly workshop is perfect if you’re brand new to calligraphy or looking to explore a more relaxed and vibrant style. We’ll start by getting to know the tools – working with both fine and medium tip colourful brush pens - and ease into warm-up exercises that will help you build confidence with strokes, pressure, and letter shapes.

From there, you’ll move on to forming the modern calligraphy alphabet, practicing letters, connecting words, and experimenting with layout. You’ll have plenty of space to explore your own style, and I’ll be there to guide you every step of the way.

To finish, you’ll use your new skills to create a set of hand-lettered cards, envelopes, and gift tags. I’ll also show you how to add simple floral doodles - think little flowers, leafy branches and decorative elements - to make your creations extra special.
