Have you ever wanted to be confident identifying Seasonal edible wild plants, fungi & flowers that grow locally?
I’ll be running these on a regular basis throughout the seasons, the locations will differ but they will all take place within or close by to my hometown in the Huddersfield area.
There is so much to discover and we are fortunate to have some beautiful spots close by. It’s a joy to connect to nature, making the most of every Season. The foraging walk will include some tasters of wild food inspired snacks.
I will show you examples of what is good to eat, things to avoid and how to transform them into your dishes. I’ll also cover some medicinal qualities of plants, flowers and fungi & giving you the opportunity to sample a Seasonal wild teas. Nature provides us with a larder that is so beneficial for our health & wellbeing.
It will be a gentle wander at a slow relaxing pace to ensure we don’t miss anything. You are welcome to bring a reusable vegetable net available from supermarkets to forage some edible wild plants to take home.
After introductions, I’ll cover the laws relating to foraging and how we can ensure sustainability. Then we will head off to make the most of our time together.
Just a little bit about me - I am a member of the Association of Foragers, Complementary therapist, Chinese medicine practitioner and educator. Immersing in nature, foraging and creating my own herbal remedies is such a joy and I’m looking forward to sharing my wisdom with you.
As I am sure you’ll appreciate nature can be unpredictable. Whilst there are no guarantees as to what we will discover on the day, I have chosen some treasured places with lots to show you.
Make sure you are well prepared for the day.
