Beginner's Modern Calligraphy Class

I'm Grania and I'm the founder and designer of Ink & Paper. I run a letterpress studio in West London,  keeping this beautiful 550+ year old artisan skill alive for a new generation. I trained in Book Arts at the London College of Printing, and specialised in letterpress and graphic design. I am passionate about sharing the art of typesetting and learning to work a printing press with anyone who wishes to learn this wonderful skill.

Over a glass of prosecco, learn how to create beautiful modern calligraphy using a pointed pen! This class is aimed at complete beginners.

The Maker Station

Aimed at complete beginners, this class is for anyone who wants to explore using a nib and ink, and find your own unique calligraphy style. We’ll start by working on exercises to get you familiar with the main shapes and strokes you’ll encounter, and then move on to the letterforms themselves. By the end of the class, you’ll be creating joined up words in your own unique style. As we keep classes to no more than 12 people, there will also be plenty of one-on-one help to get you started and comfortable with your lettering.Your ticket cost includes a calligraphy starter kit including nib, ink, exclusive worksheets and light refreshments during the class.On this Thursday evening class, you’ll walk away with the skills to write beautiful cards, envelopes and things like menus and placecards to add a special touch to events!Cost: £50Date: Thursday 22nd August, 7-9.30pmRun by: Grania
