About this event

  • 6 hours

Have you ever looked at a map and wondered which way up it is supposed to be? Would you like to be more confident in planning your own walks in the countryside? Yes? Then this workshop might just be for you.

At The Heart of England Forest’s beautiful Middle Spernal site, members of the charity’s Learning and Skills team will introduce you to the techniques of comparing map to ground so that you can find your way using both an Ordnance Survey Map and an orienteering map. We will also look at using a compass to effectively orientate your map to aid navigation.

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners.

Maximum number of attendees: 15
