Overview

This class will get you started on the sewing machine, giving you all the basics and confidence , to get you started on your own.

In this 3 hour beginners sewing machine class, you will learn all the basics, making a small drawstring bag made from quilting cotton.


We will be covering,

  1. Threading the machine.
  2. Winding the bobin
  3. Sewing straight lines
  4. Turning corners
  5. Backstitching
  6. Sewing even seam allowance.
  7. Straight and zigzag stitches.
  8. Making a channel, for the drawstring.

The making of this small bag will help cement the sewing machine skills in your mind. All materials included.

Tea and biscuits.


IMPORTANT NOTE:

The sewing machines are not identical, as we will be using Scrapspaces community machines. However the functions of the machines will be labellled are there will be plenty of one to one tuition during this small class. You can also bring your own machine to the class. There is a lift to the 3rd floor in Community base.
