Every Wednesday in New Cross (just 12 minutes from London Bridge) we have an evening dedicated to the original swing dance – the Lindy Hop from the 1930s and 40s. Join the taster class for beginners taught by Sharon Davis, a champion swing dancer with over 20 years experience. Walk-ins are always welcome.After the class there is plenty of time to practice what you learned and have a drink with your fellow students. Expect a fun and relaxed atmosphere in a jazzy speakeasy-style venue.Evening Schedule:6.30pm Doors open for class registrations (and drinks at the bar!)7pm to 8pm Beginners Lindy Hop Taster Class8pm to 11pm Social dance timeAbout the Class:This is a Lindy Hop lesson for adult beginners. You will learn how to Lindy Hop from scratch with award-winning swing dancer Sharon Davis. Lindy Hop is the original swing dance from the 1930s and 40s – it’s the happiest dance on earth! This is a 1-hour beginner level dance class, zero experience needed. You don’t need to bring a partner because we will rotate partners in class, so you will dance with lots of people. It’s a great way to make friends.This is a drop-in taster class, not a course, so these classes can be taken in any order. Start any time and drop in whenever you want. It doesn’t matter if you miss a week or attend irregularly. Walk-ins are always welcome.Where: Jazzbourne, 443 New Cross Road, London SE14 6TAClass Price: £15/£10 concessionConcession tickets are for full-time university students and for Equity members.
