Behind the Mask is an event filled with passion, fun, mystery and elegance that aims to shine the spotlight on the taboo subject of abuse and to highlight its effects on the family as well as to present Cedarcube‘s solutions and offerings to eliminate this societal ill particularly in hard to reach community groups as well as raise funds for such.
The fact that such a glamorous affair is being used to highlight this issue, points to the irony and reality of abuse that it is often hidden behind a mask of smiles and a facade that ’all is well’.
Cllr Sandra Naden Horley, was herself a sufferer of abuse as a child. She has risen above it to now offer psychotherapy to reformed and recovering abusers in the prison service and in her practice as lead psychotherapist and Counselor. She is a Councillor in her local area of Corby in England looking after the most extensive portfolio in the country of social services.
