About this event

IN-PERSON EVENT

Join us to discover the history of the building of The Archive Centre, a purpose built archive for Norfolk's documents. Take a tour to understand the thought process of the architects who designed it and see the journey of a document entering the building. Find out about the search for the latest technology which was incorporated into the design. Finally have a look at documents from across Norfolk, including architectural drawings, plans, maps and elevations. See how different Norwich could have looked with three alternative plans for City Hall and a sketch for a flyover by Carrow Road.

This tour is put on especially for the Heritage Open Days theme Architecture: Buildings, bridges and beehives and includes many different areas to our usual behind the scenes experience.

Booking opens on Wednesday 27 August at 10am.

Tours last approximately 90 minutes.
