Free transport will be provided from Bellingham Town Hall to Northumberland Archives at Woodhorn. At the archives you will get the chance to have a look behind the scenes, see some original documents and have an introduction to doing your own archival research.


Thanks to the EDF Energy Green Rigg Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund the Northumberland Archives Charitable Trust were awarded a grant in 2023. Part of the grant funding allowed Northumberland Archives to catalogue the papers of the Clayton family who were local historians of Northumberland in the 18th and 19th centuries.

The rest of the grant has allowed Northumberland Archives to develop local history sessions to be delivered in the communities of Bellingham and Kirkwhelpington.


Please note: transport will consist of a mini-bus with pick up in Kirkwhelpington and drop off at Woodhorn, and return. Sixteen tickets have been made available for this event as the maximum number that the mini-bus can legally carry. Further details will be made available to those who book nearer the time.
