We perhaps all have experienced a situation where we’re feeling overwhelmed or stressed out and end up snapping at a loved one, or we’re unable to connect or listen to them because we have complete tunnel vision on our own worries and concerns. This is because the stress response literally narrows our perception to the threat at hand, making us hypervigilant to our environment and much less able to emotionally soften and connect with others. When we are rested, feeling fundamentally safe and secure, perception broadens and we become more present with others. Opening us up to genuine human connection. This class will explore how a regulated nervous system allows for more connection, clarity, and creativity through a brief talk and a Restorative Yoga practice that focuses on forward folds and sensing the back body.
