Beyond Care: Reframing Support Work

Beyond Care: Reframing Support Work

The Hub, Mulberry ParkCombe Down, England
Overview

A reflective in-person event exploring dignity, emotional intelligence, and the future of support work.

Welcome to Beyond Care

What if support work was about more than tasks, routines, and compliance?

Beyond Care is a reflective in-person event designed to challenge how we think about care, dignity, emotional intelligence, and human connection.

This is not traditional training.

It is a conversation about what happens when support work moves beyond completing tasks and begins focusing on autonomy, relationships, and humanity.

Across this live event, we’ll explore:

Behaviour as communication
Understanding the meaning behind actions and responses.

Dignity in support
Putting respect, choice, and humanity at the centre.

Support without control
Empowering people, not managing them.

Emotional intelligence in care
Building stronger relationships and better outcomes.

The human reality of needing care
A perspective that challenges assumptions and deepens understanding.

You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions, connect with others across care and support, and hear about the wider Beyond Care vision.

Whether you work in support, social care, disability services, leadership, education, or simply believe care should be more human, this conversation is for you.
