ISPS promotes psychological and social approaches to psychosis.ISPS UKis the United Kingdom network of the International organisationISPS– International Society for Psychological and Social Approaches to Psychosis (formerly known as the International Society for the Psychological Treatment of the Schizophrenias and other Psychoses).ISPS draws together individuals who are interested in the psychological understanding and treatment of the psychoses and supports those who want to develop psychological approaches in their own places of work.ISPS works to promote greater knowledge of the different psychological approaches to psychosis and psychotic experiences – psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioural, arts-based, family and holistic approaches – and their better integration with each other and with pharmaceutical approaches.ISPS provides a place where professionals, service users and carers can share their ideas, hopes and struggles, and can examine their differences in constructive dialogue and debate.ISPS UK:Organises national and regional conferences and workshops on key issuesSupports the development of local groups and special interest groupsPromotes good practice in psychological approaches to psychosisPublishes a regular newsletter with in depth reviews of books and conferencesProvides a lively, widely-used email discussion listLinks with ISPS networks in other countries

National Conference of ISPS UK - the UK network of the International Society for Psychological and Social Approaches to Psychosis.Users &amp; survivors of mental health services, their families and carers and mental health workers are often seen as having opposing positions. Consequently, opportunities for finding common ground, developing authentic relationships, and true allyship are rare.Join us for this interactive and participatory conference where we'll be using the innovative Trialogue approach to explore our differences and take the first steps to how we can work more effectively together to tackle the issues that matter most to us all: inadequate services, inequality, poverty, discrimination and the wider factors underlying many people's experiences of madness and distress.The conference will be hosted and facilitated by Dr Líam MacGabhann.Dr Líam MacGabhann is a mental health practitioner, researcher, educationalist, and community activist. Along with a wide group of colleagues his main programme of research focuses on "Transforming Dialogues in Mental Health Communities”. Much of this work centres around people reconciling their own experiences, perceptions and practices with other people/groups associated with mental health and using different approaches to improve these at individual, group, organisational and community level.The event will conclude with the ISPS UK Annual General Meeting, where you can learn more about our work this past year, contribute to future decisions and discuss your thoughts/feedback with trustees. AGM papers will be circulated to members at least 14 days prior to the meeting.This gathering provides us with the invaluable chance to come together, share, celebrate, and collectively shape the path forward. Introduction to ISPS UK and three talks sharing perspectives from individuals with lived experience of "psychosis", family and friends (who are often also carers), and "professionals" working in the sector.

Trialogue uses open dialogue as a means to allow everyone to participate in the conversation, creating common language and a mutual understanding. There is no exclusivity of expert knowledge or power, with the diverse experiences and expressions carrying equal weight. The combined expertise is taken on board by all in the Trialogue and together they create a shared reality that is mutually acceptable and accessible to all. All event participants are welcome to take part in this guided session.

These participatory workshops will reflect what emerges from the morning session, staying responsive to the needs of participants as we start to build a way forward together.

As we conclude the conference, we will think about what steps we need to take (as an organisation and as individuals) to become an active network working together in the spirit of allyship towards mutual goals and our shared reality.
