Bid writing masterclass
An in-depth, interactive bid writing masterclass designed for organisations actively seeking funding and ready to strengthen their approach.
Delivered over two 3-hour sessions, this workshop offers plenty of opportunities to practise and apply your learning to real funding opportunities. Through real-world examples, practical tools, and guided exercises, we’ll explore the full funding journey—from understanding the funding environment and what funders are really looking for, to planning and writing a compelling bid.
Participants will learn how to identify and select the right funders, develop a strong funding “toolbox” (including reusable content and stock answers), and respond clearly and effectively to application questions. We’ll also cover common reasons bids fail, how to stand out, and how to build credible budgets, demonstrate impact, and develop strong funder relationships.
Using case studies—the good, the bad, and the ugly! —you’ll gain insight into what works in practice, as well as how to handle challenges when things don’t go to plan. We’ll also explore how tools like AI can support your bid writing process.
By the end of the masterclass, you’ll feel more confident in planning and developing high-quality funding applications that reflect your organisation’s strengths.
This masterclass is best suited to organisations with a defined project or funding need in mind, who are ready to apply their learning between sessions.
Please note: Participants are expected to attend BOTH sessions to get the full benefit of this course. This course is for VCSE organisations only based in Kirklees and 35 seats maximum are available. These will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
