PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL SITES IN WEST AND CENTRAL LONDON ARE NOW FULLY STAFFED.  WE ARE STILL LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS IN EAST LONDON; AT THAMESMEAD AND CONCRETE BARGES RAINHAM . IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ATTENDING EITHER OF THESE EVENTS, YOU CAN SIMPLY SHOW UP. THE DETAILS ARE BELOW: 
- Thamesmead: Meet at 1:00pm: 80-106 Redbourne Dr, London SE28 8RX. Call Jess Becher on 07500840596
- Concrete barges, Rainham: Meet at 12:30pm.  The site is a 25 min walk from Rainham train station, following the signs for Concrete Barges. If you have any queries call Vic Richardson on 07973 442219. Directions are below:

Get the train to Rainham station. Use the steps to cross over the tracks; if you have come from the east, go up the steps by the platform exit. This is will take you onto an elevated footpath over the road and drops onto a footpath alongside Ferry Lane. At the end of this path, you will hit a large roundabout. From this point on, follow the rusty metal signposts for ‘Concrete Barges’. This will take you under the A13 on a scenic route through the marsh. When you hit Coldharbour Lane, you will need to cross the road, turn left and then immediately right, under the height restriction barrier. This road will take you to Concrete barges where you will see the Thames21 van in the car park.

Join <A HREF="http://www.thames21.org.uk/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Thames21</A> and the <A HREF="https://www.zsl.org/conservation/habitats/marine-and-freshwater/one-less" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">#OneLess</A> bottle campaign for our biggest ever counting project on the Thames. On the 2nd September, we will be sending volunteers to around 20 collection hotspots on the Thames to count (and remove) that rising scourge of the world’s rivers and oceans – plastic drink bottles. Over our 20 years of cleaning the Thames we have noticed how the rapid rise in the use of drink bottles has been reflected in the river. So with the help of volunteers all across the tidal Thames, we are going to attempt to count and remove all the bottles on river's foreshore, and with that send an important message about the scale of this challenge. Last year, we visited 11 sites and retreived 2,500 bottles. This year we are going a step further and visit every site where we know bottles accumulate.
We will allocate you a site in mid-August based on your preference of location. The events will be between noon and 5pm depending on tides and preference, with each survey typically taking about 1 hour.
