A four course pop-up dinner connecting food and art. Created by chef Leci Danvers and artist Abbie Horberry.
Birch
Where food meets art through seasonal, foraged produce.
Join us at Sol’s Sister for Birch pop-up; a relaxed, indulgent Sunday dinner: one long table, a generous four-course menu, and a flow of art, music, and drinks.
The menu is inspired by wild produce, foraged by Leci and each of the 4 courses resonate with flavours growing wild around the UK.
Each course inspired a painting, creating a multi sensory experience; Abbie using the same foraged ingredients from each course to create natural dyes to prepare each canvas.
About Chef Leci Danvers:
Born in Lancashire and raised in and around the Lake District, chef Leci’s cooking is shaped by a love of foraging and the region’s landscapes, drawing inspiration from natural produce and seasonal abundance. His experience working under Michelin starred chef Brad Carter, included Carters @ Westlands, a greenhouse pop-up that earned a star in six weeks, cementing his belief in sustainability and using only British ingredients. He currently works as sous-chef at Island restaurant in Coal Drops Yard.
About Artist Abbie Horberry:
Born in Aberdeenshire and raised in Lancashire, Abbie’s paintings are inspired by the textures, rhythms, and colours of nature, shaped by memories of childhood spent in the Highlands and North East coast of Scotland. Her practice begins with dyeing, through which creases, stains, and folds emerge alchemically to form the basis of her large-scale oil paintings. She recently completed the Turps Studio Programme at Turps Art School, London, having previously graduated in Fine Art at Lancaster University (2022). Recent exhibitions include Scene XI: a world of dew at Matt Carey-Williams, London.
Carefully selected wine pairings will be available to choose on the night and are not included in the ticket price.
All paintings will be available for purchase.
