Bird Bath Pottery Workshop

Bird Bath Pottery Workshop

The WalrondsCullompton, England
Saturday, Mar 21, 2026 from 10 am to 4:30 pm GMT
Overview

Come and join me for a fun day learning how to create your own bird bath for your garden from clay. No experience necessary.

Bird Bath Pottery Workshop

Hello,
My name is Helen McCormick, and I’m a local ceramic artist and qualified teacher. I’ve been working with clay for 30 years and love sharing my skills and passion with others.

Join me for a relaxed, friendly day of creativity where you’ll design and make your own bird bath using traditional hand-building techniques. In the morning, we’ll build the form, and in the afternoon, you’ll decorate it with coloured slips to add beautiful patterns and detail. No experience needed — just come ready to create and have fun!

All materials and equipment are provided. Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day. Please bring a packed lunch and an apron or old clothes.

After the workshop, I’ll take your bird bath home to fire and glaze so it can hold water. Your finished piece will be ready to collect about six weeks later from the Walronds — I’ll confirm the date once it’s ready.

Please note: I can store your work for up to six months after the collection date, after which any uncollected pieces will be donated to charity.

Follow me on Instagram and Facebook to see photos from previous workshops: Helen McCormick Ceramics.

Helen McCormick holds a master’s degree in ceramics, is a qualified art and design teacher, and has an enhanced DBS check.

There is FREE parking at the Walronds (access via Shortlands Lane, just before the fire station on Tiverton Road).
