Bird Ringing

Bird Ringing

Overview

Join members of Northumbria Ringing Group as they do some bird ringing in Harperley Woods.

Bird ringing is the practice of catching birds, marking them with an identifying band around the leg, taking details like wing length and weight and then releasing them.

It is a great opportunity to see the birds which visit your garden up close.

Please come along dressed for the weather (whatever that may be). There may be a lot of standing around as we wait for the trained bird ringers to extract the birds from the nets and bring them to us.

Please park considerately on Bradbury Close and the surrounding streets.

This is a free event which has been funded by Tanfield Lea Countrisde Group.

Please do not book a space for this free event if you are unable to attend. If you find that you can no longer attend nearer the event please let us know so that we can allocate your space to someone else.
