Birding for beginners: Ruddons Point

Birding for beginners: Ruddons Point

Overview

Join us for a coastal walk by the Firth of Forth for waders and seabirds.

We will be walking on the north coast of the Firth of Forth looking for waders along the beach, flocks of divers, grebes and sea ducks such as eider and scoters. On the marshes nearby we will look for pipits and buntings.

The paths can be uneven and we may be walking on the beach and across rocks so strong waterproof footwear essential. This is a cold and windy spot and we may be standing to scan the estuary at times so dress accordingly. Family friendly but children must be with an adult. Dogs may need to be on short leads. Binoculars recommended. Bring telescopes if you have them. Toilet facilities and cafe nearby.

Meet at car park on track south west of Kilconquhar leading to Shell Bay Caravan Park, KY9 1HB. OS grid reference NO 4693 0047, What3Words ///trucks.countries.restores. (Please note that the map pointer generated by eventbrite is based on an area postcode, please use the grid reference or What.3.Words for an accurate meeting location.)
