About The Intelligent Birth Course

Welcome to a forward-looking journey of self-discovery and strategic preparation for birth.

This course is designed for the thinking woman and her partner. We move beyond standard "breathe and push" advice to offer a comprehensive training ground for your mind and body. Our philosophy is simple: Your body makes no mistakes. Whether your birth is physiological, medicated, or a belly birth, our goal is to give you the tools to navigate it with calm, confidence, and connection - and so an easier start to parenting your new baby.

What You Will Learn

We combine evidence-based birth physiology, hypnotherapy and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) to help you train your attention and prepare for the "Mountain Moment" of meeting your baby.

  • The Physiology of Birth: Understand how your uterus muscles work, the role of hormones (Oxytocin vs. Adrenaline), and how to disrupt the "Fear-Tension-Pain" cycle.
  • The "Flower Hour" Strategy: Learn to identify the precise biological cues that signal when to leave your sanctuary and transfer to the hospital or delivery suite. This strategy helps you avoid the panic of "is it time?" and keeps your labour progressing smoothly.
  • Advanced Breathing & Comfort: Master specific breathing techniques—including Calm Breathing and Surge Breathing—alongside physical comfort measures and massage techniques to support you through every wave.
  • Neurological Alignment (NLP): We explore the NLP Logical Levels to help you align your environment, behaviours, and beliefs, supporting your identity shift into parenthood.
  • Clean Language & Self-Coaching: Using "Clean Setup" techniques, you will uncover your deepest unconscious requirements for safety and design a birth space that works for you.
  • The Partner’s Role: Partners are not just passengers. We provide a clear "job description" for birth partners, teaching them how to protect your space, advocate for your preferences, and anchor your calm aswell as pre-birth bonding with their child.

The Course Format

This is a comprehensive package designed to support you from pregnancy through to the final weeks.

  1. 2 x Full-Day Workshops: Held on two Sundays (a fortnight apart) from 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM. This spacing allows you time to practice techniques and process the learning.
  2. Private 1:1 Session (Included): Every couple receives a private coaching session with me at 37 weeks. This is our dedicated time to troubleshoot any remaining worries, "anchor" your confidence, and ensure you feel ready.
  3. Course Materials: You will receive a comprehensive folder of handouts, birth preference templates, and hypnosis scripts/audio tracks to support your home practice.

Optional: Pregnancy Yoga

To round off the learning with deep relaxation, you can choose to stay for a Pregnancy Yoga session immediately following the course (4:00 PM – 5:15 PM). This is a wonderful opportunity to move your body and connect with other expectant mothers in the studio.

Venue & Logistics

  • Location: The Studio at Lee Complementary Health Centre, SE12. A calm, welcoming space perfect for this work.
  • What to Wear: Please wear comfortable, loose clothing as we will be practicing breathing and relaxation positions.
  • Lunch: There will be a break for lunch. You are welcome to bring your own or explore the local cafes in Lee.
  • Who is this for?: Ideal for first-time parents or those having a second baby who want a more empowered experience. We welcome all birth choices and focus on helping you feel safe and supported, however you choose to birth your baby.
