Brighton Chamber has lots of brilliant events on offer each month. Events are at the heart of Brighton Chamber. Our varied programme offers first-class opportunities for connecting and learning both in-person (when it’s safe to do so again) and at the moment - virtually. We offer Learning, networking and topical events.If you have never been a member of the Chamber you can book and join as a guest at two of our events (just one Chamber Breakfast). How to write better business copy
Do you want to improve your writing skills at work? Does a blank screen or page fill you with dread? Do your newsletters, Facebook updates, reports, emails, tweets, bids or press releases leave a lot to be desired?
This Bite-size session will introduce you to some techniques that will improve your writing skills the minute you get back to your desk. We’ll look at how to craft succinct, uncomplicated, attention-grabbing sentences, plus how to avoid management-speak and write in simple, straightforward English. 
Finally, we’ll take a look at spelling, with some fun tips about how to remember the words that always trip you up.
The session will be highly interactive, fairly noisy and incredibly useful.

Who For? Anyone at all who has to write for work. Beginners and mid-level writing ability, but plenty of experts in other fields need help with writing.
 
Who By? <A HREF="http://www.thesentenceworks.co.uk/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Judy Yorke</A> is a journalist, editor, journalism tutor and trainer. She has been a journalist for 30 years and held senior positions on leading titles including Good Housekeeping and Woman.  Her work is still published regularly in the Daily Mirror and BBC Good Food, among others.
Judy believes that the skills journalists are trained in – to be succinct, interesting, clear and accurate – can be applied to any type of writing in the workplace.  She qualified as a trainer and set up The Sentence Works in 2014 to help businesses improve their written communications.

What's the refund policy?
Places are limited, and events are usually oversubscribed. Please give two working days’ notice via email for a refund* or you’ll be required to pay for your place in full.
*Eventbrite booking fees are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled or there are duplicate charges.

Bite-sized Learning sessions are two-hour workshops offering an introduction, a refresher or an overview of a topic that could help or boost your business. They cover everything from SEO, social media analytics and finance to presenting with confidence.
