Blank Slate: Metalsmithing

Aged 13 to 16 years? Join us on Thursday 29 January for the next Blank Slate with artist, Liz Casey where we are exploring metalsmithing

For ages 13 to 16 years only.

Join us for the next Blank Slate, where we are exploring some of the basic techniques behind jewellery making led by artist, Liz Casey. Thinking about ideas around community, friendship and what that means to us as a starting point to making our own metal artworks.

You’ll work with copper and brass as you are guided step by step through the process. You'll have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of hammers to create different textures and finishes, and then personalise your designs using a wide selection of patterned and letter stamps.

No previous experience is needed, and you’ll be supported at each stage, allowing you to work at your own pace and enjoy trying something new.

About the Artist

Liz started Metal Lust Jewellery in 2018 with one clear goal: to create jewellery without boundaries and stay true to her creativity. Liz has nearly 20 years of experience, making is more than a craft - it's meditative, purposeful, and has played a huge role in supporting her mental health. She can lose herself for hours at the bench, transforming ideas into something meaningful.

Blank Slate is our monthly group for ages 13 to 16, bringing you something fresh, fun, and inspiring. Our mission is to create a space where you can unleash your creativity through workshops, talks, tours, and outings to other art spaces and galleries. You’ll get to meet and hang out with professional artists and creatives, gaining inspiration and insight into the art world.
