This online course focuses on blended learning and teaching and has been designed for Teaching Support staff (i.e. Demonstrators (Grade F), Teaching Support Assistants (Grade G) and Assistant Teachers (Grade H)) who have not yet engaged with this training, previously run in TB1. The programme will support you in your roles as we face the challenges of a new learning and teaching environment. Both the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Professor Judith Squires) and PVC Education (Professor Tansy Jessop) have supported the mandating of this programme and as such the required attendance will be paid for at normal hourly rate.  The course This online course scheduled across 5 days for 90 minutes per day is for all hourly paid teaching staff.  The aim of the course is to provide you with the skills and knowledge to plan learning and teaching for flexible and blended delivery.  In the course you will:  <ul><li> Explore what the new blended environment will mean for teaching and learning  </li></ul><ul><li>Engage with good practice and current thinking about engaging and inclusive design for your context  </li></ul><ul><li> Experience how different technologies can support different types of learning and teaching   </li></ul><ul><li>Apply principles of online and blended design to your teaching  </li></ul>Course scheduleDay 1: Mon 11th JanBlended Learning and Teaching at Bristol: setting the scene. 1 hour live session 10.00am - 11.00am (a further session at 2pm will be offered if there are large numbers).and approx. 0.5 hours asynchronous activity Day 2: Tues 12th JanTeaching interactive sessions. Approx. 1.5 hours asynchronous activity Day 3: Wed 13th JanTeaching inclusively. Approx. 1.5 hours asynchronous activity Day 4: Thurs 14th JanMarking and giving feedback. Approx. 1.5 hours asynchronous activity Day 5: Fri 15th JanNurturing relationships, summary and close. 1 hour live session 10.00am - 11.00am (a further session at 2pm will be offered if there are large numbers).and approx. 0.5 hours asynchronous activity <h3>FAQ</h3>Will I get paid?All hourly paid staff who have not yet engaged with the course will get paid. You can claim up to 7.5 hours. Claim alongside your teaching hours; any queries direct to your line manager/MyERP signee.As this is an online course, we will use Blackboard engagement statistics to verify your engagement. In order to offer extra flexibility, access to the Blackboard course will be open from Mon 11th Jan until Fri 22nd Jan 2021.
