BLETHER BURNS NIGHT

Levenshulme Old Library CIOLevenshulme, England
Saturday, Jan 24 from 8 pm to 11 pm GMT
Overview

A queer, camp Burns Night at Blether: poetry, singing, dancing, theatrics, haggis-adjacent nonsense & BYOB joy in an old library.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿Blether Burns Night returns.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

For the third time, we’re gathering to bring a traditional Scottish Burns Night back to Manchester, rooted in heritage, shaped by community, and joyfully queered!!,,,

Blether was founded by two Scottish women, and this night honours that lineage: carrying Burns south of the border and opening his work to warmth, play, camp, and collective celebration. Hosted in an old library, the evening blends the familiar rituals of Burns Night, addresses to the bard, poetry, song, dance, and food, with theatrical flair and affectionate silliness!.

Expect stimidity alongside sincerity, ritual alongside rebellion, and space for everyone to participate in whatever way feels right, perform, toast, sing, or simply listen with a drink in hand!

BYOB. Queer-friendly. Soft, welcoming, and joyfully chaotic.
A night to honour the past, celebrate the present, and raise a glass together For community and blether forever and ever and ever
