Block Printing on Fabrics Workshop: Patterns
Develop your own repeat patterns to block print on fabric, beginners and improvers
Join tutor, textile designer and artist Anne Davison on this full day workshop which offers a deep dive into block printing repeat patterns on fabric.
What you can expect:
You will design and carve your own printing block, which you will use to develop your pattern repeat.
You will be encouraged to explore different methods to develop your repeat on paper before finally printing on fabric.
This session is suitable for complete beginners, but if you are a returning student, Anne will guide you in further developing your patterns, and methods of repeat.
What you'll take away:
You leave with knowledge of the different methods of repeat printing, and a length of your own hand printed design on linen.
This unique, finished piece will be suitable for homewares, soft furnishings, clothing or accessories. Alternatively, you may choose to print directly onto a cushion cover.
What to bring:
• You may like to bring a packed lunch.
• Please also bring an apron or wear old clothes.
• All other materials included.
Suitable for:
All skill levels welcome.
You may be at the beginning or your textile design or printmaking journey, or have some experience and be looking to advance your pattern design skills.
