Boconnoc Fun Ride 2026
Enjoy a glorious fun ride at beautiful Boconnoc Estate - a wonderful opportunity to explore the estate in company, on horseback
Join us for a very special fun ride, offering unique access to the glorious woodlands, lanes and tracks through Boconnoc Estate, by kind permission of the Fortescue family.
The route is approx 16km in length, setting out from the parkland in the heart of the estate and taking in woodland, forestry paths and lanes as well as tracking through the iconic Deer Park.
Please book your ticket(s) according to the time at which you wish to begin your ride. There are four time-slots - please give yourself time to arrive, register and get yourself and your horse/pony ready to ride out within the alloted time:
- 9am to 10am
- 10am to 11am
- 11am to 12pm
- 12pm to 1pm
You can book for up to six people in one transaction.
Children age 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
You will be issued with a number which will be shared before the event, please ensure your number is clearly displayed while you are riding. You will also need a medical armband and to have completed our online medical questionnaire for each rider - this will be emailed out to you in the reply when you book your ticket.
Tickets cost £32 per person and can be bought for up to six people in one transaction.
Your ticket includes a delicious cream tea (with either tea/coffee or homemade lemonade) supplied by The Cornish Tea Party Company. Please let us know if you have dietary requirements relating to your complimentary cream tea.
We are delighted that The Cornish Tea Party Company will be on-hand during the day selling cakes, teas and coffees along with bacon butties and veggie soup.
If you would like to reserve a cream tea for non-riders attending along with you, advance booking is highly recommended by purchasing as an 'Add-on' when you book your ticket. Additional cream teas are £8.25pp.
Refunds cannot be given less than 7 days before the event commences.
Portaloo and drinking water from a field tap are available on-site. Please bring anything else you require food / drink wise, and all equipment and resources required for your horse / pony.
The wonderful Julia Powney will be taking photographs at the event. These will be accessible afterwards to purchase.
Rosettes will be given out to all riders.
A medic will be in attendance.
Please note:
- A route map will be sent out a few days before the event and the route will be signed and stewarded. The route is subject to change at the organisers' discretion according to weather and ground conditions.
- For 2026 we are hoping to include a small number of rustic jumps in the route. However these will be subject to logistics and weather, and are at the discretion of the organisers rather than being a guaranteed feature of the 2026 Fun Ride. If jumps are included, they will include a range of heights, be no bigger than 70cm, and there will be a 'ride around' option for those not wishing to jump.
- There is a small section (approx 0.3km) of the route which is on a quiet public road just outside of the Estate grounds.
- There are two small rivers that horses cross as part of the route.
Riding hats and body protectors that are worn must be compliant with the current BHS standards. Riding hats are compulsory, body protectors are recommended but at the discretion of the rider.
Neither Little Margate Equestrian nor Boconnoc Estate or any of its representatives will be held responsible for any accident or loss, however caused to any rider, spectator or animal before, during or after the event. We advise that all riders have their own personal accidenty and liability insurance and ask that that both horses and riders are sufficiently experienced and prepared for a ride of this length that takes in varied ground conditions.
Dogs are welcome if kept on a lead at all times, and any mess picked up.
Tickets for this event will close on 10th April 2026, or before if fully booked.
